Brazil - Paraty

Well the weather has been very Irish lately - lots of rain. But on our last day in Paraty the sun came out and we did what Irish people do in that situation and went to the beach. After inspecting the sky first thing in the morning a schooner trip was hastily booked to take us (and around 12 others) around a few of the 200 islands in the bay. I think the pictures speak for themselves....

We were joined by Karen´s friend from college, Andreas and his girlfriend, Inhar. They are travelling a very similar route as us over the next 3 months so we`ll hopefully see them again on the road sometime soon.

Right now we are sitting waiting in Sao Paolo for our overnight bus to take us to Igauzu Falls. Last night was a bit stressful as we were just about able to book 2 seats on the last bus of the night for the 6 hour trip to Sao Paolo (the 1/3 mark on the way to Igauzu). Also, due to it being the busy season we had to wait all day for this 6pm bus. Killing time in Sao Paolo is difficult due to it being a crap city paired with a crime reputation greater than Rio (cars are allowed to drive slowly through red lights if there is no oncoming traffic due to the prevalence of car-jackings!). The safe choice was a stroll around a few a malls and a movie (Seven Pounds, 7.5/10 from me).

That`s it for now, bus time! 16 hours - yay!

1 island of 200!
